so if you try to bring up real life arguments against lasers you should also adress that they never miss.....
this is a game so real life physics doesnt count, but if even a dev is sayin amarr need some sort of boost then i ask myself who is the bigger whiner?
the guys wh try to make some good suggestions or the guys who fear a amarr boost?
all guys goin on "rabble rabble mode" should think about it. you even whine to prevent a boost.....
Femto-seconds? why not go for the gold and push past zepto or yocto! if you're gonna make it short, then make it REALLY short! of course you could simply step outside the Si notation and just go with quadrillionth, but that would be too easy...
Indeed though, if you want to look through the lens of logic, once engaged, any laser be it pulse or beam is going to fire and make contact at approximately 186,164 miles per second... So basically it's going to hit you at any practical engagement distances with ease not only effectively instantly relative to the distance, but also, the speed at which it will travel also would virtually negate all transversal (as it would be laughably slow in comparison to the speed of the laser), it would also completely make any sort of "accuracy" issue utterly irrelevant unless in the presence of an incredibly strong gravity well, and even then relativity shows that the target would be proportionally effected by the gravity as well, so any curvature would be nearly imperceptible to the shooter, shootee, and the accuracy of the beam.
"Fall off" for a laser would also be completely non-existent... Attenuation would be the only thing of issue, but that would only be a problem once you start aiming at other solar systems and the like (I hope that's close enough from where you plan to fire).
Setting aside "reality", clearly whenever anyone is talking about a nerf or a buff, inherently the most unqualified people in the world will gather round and of course insist that the world as we know it would come to an end if "XYZ" was done... you know what, it's the exact same thing with politics, EVERYWHERE...
The problem in all of this is, the "rabble rabble rabble" crowd typically has the loudest voice, and CCP being virtually tone-deaf as they are to any suggestion that would make the game better, can feel the rumbling vibrations of the whiners shrill voices cutting through their flesh like so many rusty fish-hooks, so unfortunately CCP is all too happy to dance to their tune far too often...
Silly geese... lasers missing is easy to explain. Tracking in this game is a measure of how fast the turret itself can turn. Big heavy laser turrets take time to turn, and basically, when you miss it is because the on board computer doesn't care if the locked target is in the sights of the gun or not, it just fires. If the turret's motion wasn't fast enough to keep up with the transversal velocity of the target, then you miss. Not because the laser is faulty, but the turret it is fired from cannot keep up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
